We are honored to welcome mind-body instructor Jillian Szafranski as our guest lead for this Wellness Circle.

Jillian will lead a trauma-informed, gentle yoga/stretch/somatic session with simple education about the nervous system during times of transition/stress, with the option of hands-on bodywork from the instructor. 

About Jillian: 

Jillian is an LA-based mind-body instructor who offers corporate wellness, yoga therapy for those in recovery, energetic massage, and annual transformational yoga & wellness retreats. Her training is rooted in Alexander and Linklater techniques, which she learned while attending Emerson College in Boston. Drawing inspiration from the ever-developing field of neuroscience, Jillian uses her knowledge of anatomy and somatic integration (a therapeutic technique that combines the mental, emotional, and spiritual to the physical body) to craft a proprietary hands-on approach to yoga that is informed by her own experiences with physical trauma and illness to practice trauma-informed yoga therapy for those in recovery. Jillian created the Yoga Therapy Program for Reasons Eating Disorder Centers as well as the Office Yoga Programs for the Los Angeles Metropolitan Transportation Authority and NPR (National Public Radio.) Her strong belief that Wellness Programs should not discriminate against those who have varying degrees of physical abilities, inspired her to developed an all-inclusive Wellness Program for JLL & Mercury Insurance called the 15-Minute Reboot. Jillian works privately as a yoga therapist and bodyworker. She is Yoga Alliance certified.

MAEVE community! We’re getting prepared, without getting overwhelmed.

We’re hosting a practical, friendly emergency preparedness workshop that covers the essentials for our area: local hazards, why planning matters, how to make a solid plan, what to keep in emergency supplies + a go-bag, and the most foundational steps to being ready.

The vibe? Grounded, supportive, practical. Less doom, gloom, and more let’s empower ourselves by being prepared!

Who it’s for: Anyone in the MAEVE community, including folks who are totally new to preparedness.

What to expect: A clear walk-through of the basics + time for questions. Depending on group size, it’s about 90min-2hrs. If you need to dip out, it will be recorded and shared.

Bring: Any questions you’ve been meaning to ask (childcare, pets, go-bags, evacuation, etc.) or send your questions ahead of time to: shirah@resilientpeeps.com

Cost: MAEVE is covering the cost of this presentation so that our whole community can access this event, but we would please ask you to make a donation to MAEVE to cover Resilient Peep fees

Join us for a MEMBERS-ONLY MAEVE Clothing Swap happening.
We are collaborating with MAEVE Member Johanna’s business, WELCOME PT, and her business park neighbors, Infant Bodywork and Tongue Ties with Love.

This event has a suggested entry fee of $15, to pay for ethical textile recycling via Ridwell and to continue our community missions, but no one turned away for lack of funds.

You need not bring anything to participate! If you do bring items, please limit to 2 grocery bags of clothes/shoes in very good condition (no stains/holes/pilled and must be clean).

The theme is SUMMER! Baby, kids, adult, and maternity are all accepted.

Due to limited space, please do not bring larger baby items, but regift on our WhatsApp Marketplace instead.
We will also be having a public swap in August at the Rock Coffeehouse in Eagle Rock.
Don’t forget your cloth bags to take home goodies!
